Public Engagement
Overview
Forest Bathing Club offers a wide range of public programming throughout the year — from guided walks and seasonal series to participatory art installations and immersive sound experiences. Rooted in ecopsychology and designed to support emotional wellbeing and connection to the natural world, these offerings are open to all.Accessibility & Sliding Scale
Pricing for public offerings varies depending on the host venue, but we strive to make these experiences as accessible as possible. Honorary or sliding-scale tickets are always available for those facing financial stress — please don’t hesitate to reach out.Monthly Walks & Seasonal Offerings
We host monthly guided Forest Bathing walks in partnership with beloved local institutions like Evergreen Brick Works in Toronto and the McMichael Canadian Art Collection in Kleinburg. These walks offer a restorative pause from the pace of daily life and are attuned to the seasons, the land, and the communities they serve. Special walks are occasionally held to mark solstices, festivals, and other significant events.Participatory Art & Performance Work
Our public programming also includes site-specific art and performance installations that explore themes of grief, healing, and ecological belonging. A notable project would be the In Honour of All Beings art installation at the Good Mourning Festival (2023) at Evergreen Brick Works — a series of three interactive art installations inviting public participation in eco-grief rituals and sound-based reflection.
We’re excited to return to the Good Mourning Festival in November 2025, continuing our creative exploration of ecological grief and collective care through participatory experiences.
Audio Experiences
FBC founder Emily Pleasance created, wrote, and narrated “The Stories We Tell Ourselves,” an immersive audio tour version of Forest Bathing commissioned for the TD Bank Ignite Series at Evergreen Brick Works. This self-guided experience invites listeners into a contemplative journey through the park, blending story, sound, and sensory prompts to foster deeper connection with the land and with oneself. The tour remains publicly accessible at Evergreen. The Stories We Tell Ourselves Audio Tour
